Denis Williams, born March 19, 1926, in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom was Promoted to Glory on July 30, 2021, after a lengthy illness at the age of 95 years. Denis is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Marion (Deane) Williams. He is also survived by Marion’s daughter Joanna S Ruggiero and her daughter Megan Temple and his granddaughter Lily Marie Williams. He was proceeded in death by his son, Rhys Denis Williams and his parents William John and Mary Jane (Hurford) Williams.
Denis served with honor in the United States Navy during World War ll. Denis was an avid reader and enjoyed world affairs, politics, religion, and history. After the war he was employed as an engineer involved mostly in research. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and taking long drives with his wife.
At Denis’s request there will be no viewing or service, except an internment service at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138.
Those wishing to attend are asked to please meet just inside the main gate of the cemetery by 10:45 am at which time we will travel in procession to his resting place.
