Rosemary L. Balurdi, 69, of Reading, MA, passed away July 29, 2020 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA, with her family by her side.

Rosemary was born December 18, 1950, the daughter of the late Giuseppe A. and Angelina (Moschitta) Waters and older sister to Joseph.  A longtime resident of Arlington, Rosemary graduated from Arlington High School in 1969.  On July 16, 1972, she married Arnaldo Balurdi, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage and welcomed 2 sons, first Frank on September 26, 1973 and then Steven on January 21, 1977.

Rosemary was a devoted wife and mother.  She was an exceptional homemaker and took great pride in caring for her husband and sons.  Her warm and caring nature extended to many friends and family that she welcomed into her home over the years.  An extremely gifted cook, no one who visited her home ever left hungry.  Nor did they ever leave unhappy, as she was also gifted with a sparkling sense of humor and a knack for practical jokes.  She was a talented beautician, catering especially to the homebound and elderly.  She enjoyed meeting new people and could find a personal connection to nearly every person she met.  Rosemary was a breast cancer survivor of 27 years and believed strongly in helping further cancer research.  She was also a newly minted supermodel, having recently made her runway debut in 2019 at Avenue’s inaugural fashion show in Reading, MA, where she turned heads with her fashion savvy, grace and poise.

Rosemary leaves behind her husband Arnaldo; her son Frank Balurdi of Wakefield, MA; her son Steven Balurdi and his wife Jessica of Lowell, MA; her brother Joseph Waters. and his wife Jeanne of Medford, MA; her 2 grandsons Lucais Balurdi and Lochlan Balurdi, both of Lowell, MA; 3 nephews, Joseph Waters, Jr. and his wife Ellice of Stoneham, MA; Ryan Waters of Newmarket, NH; Matthew Waters and his wife Jacqueline of Groton, MA; 4 great-nieces, Zoe, Coraline and Maxx Waters of Groton, MA and Hannah Waters of Stoneham, MA; and many dear friends including, and especially, Joy and Larry McCabe, of Jupiter, FL.  She was predeceased by her parents, Giuseppe and Angelina Waters, of Arlington, MA.

Friends and family are welcomed to join the family for visitation from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the Rogers & Hutchins Funeral Home at 292 Massachusetts Ave, in Arlington.

A graveside burial service will proceed from the funeral home to Wood End Cemetery, 33 Franklin Street, in Reading, MA on Tuesday August 4th, 2020 at 11:00 am. Those wishing to attend may arrive at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 am or you may meet the funeral procession just inside the gate of the cemetery at 11:45 am.
