Rosa, Maria Manuela (Loureiro) of Arlington, passed away on September 12, 2023, at age 94 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on 10/10/1928 to the late Joaquin and Elzira Loureiro in Quintela de Azurara, Portugal.
Devoted wife of the late Mario Augusto Rosa. They were married and hopelessly in love for over 55 years.
Loving mother of Vera L. Rosa Romanelli and her husband Michael, Regina C. Rosa Webber and her husband David.
Cherished grandmother (Vovo) of Nicholas M. Romanelli and his wife Jaime, and Julia A. Romanelli.
Beloved sister of Alice Melo, Fernanda Figueiredo, Joaquim Loureiro, and the late Irene Carvalho, Natalia Sousa, Antonio Loureiro, Filomena Melo, Laura Loureiro and Manuel Loureiro.
Also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Manuela’s life was dedicated to caring for others. Initially, raising her own two children while she worked “piece work” in a factory as a seamstress. Then caring for her parents for many years who lived with her. She also helped to raise her two grandchildren, which were the “loves of her life” All this while being a very involved sister within the family. Somehow, she managed to find time to be an amazing cook! Her hobbies were gardening, crocheting/needlepoint, word searches and reading.
Visitation at the Rogers & Hutchins Funeral Home, 292 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington, on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.

Funeral mass to follow at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge at 11:00 am.
Internment will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington.
