Attorney Matthew J. Ferraro, of Arlington, passed away on July 8, 2023, just days short of his 90th birthday.
Matthew was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the son of the late Rose (Donnaruma) and Ernest Ferraro. He attended Christopher Columbus High in Boston’s North End, graduated from Boston College and earned his law degree at Portia Law School, (now New England Law/Boston). Matt had a lifelong legal practice in East Cambridge.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years Deborah (Boyle) Ferraro, loving children Ernest and his wife Anne, James and wife Jennifer, Matthew and wife Ann, Gregory and wife Leslie, and Douglas.
Matt was the cherished grandfather of Angelina M. Scocozza, Elizabeth A. VanStry and her husband William, Nicholas A. Ferraro and partner Tina, Paul Z. Ferraro, Matthew J. Ferraro, Kenneth C. Ferraro, Michael T. Ferraro, William M. Ferraro and Jackson T. Ferraro. He was the great-grandfather of James Scocozza, Wyatt VanStry and Ryder Ferraro.
He was the beloved brother of Antoinette T. Prior of Arlington.
Also survived by a niece, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation at the Rogers and Hutchins Funeral Home, 292 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
